6 years later!

Instead of a birthday party for the boys' 6th birthday, we decided to celebrate by going to Gatlinburg.  We went  for a long weekend with the Crawford's. We drove up on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon.
The funniest part was that we were planning on going to Dollywood all day Friday to beat the crowds on Saturday. Well, if you have seen Summer Vacation where they go to Wally-world then that is what happened to us. Keep in mind that it was freezing that weekend, and we bundled the kids with 50 layers, packed our coolers and headed for the park. As we make the turn to the entrance, I think "Wow, it is dead today, and this will be awesome!" As we pull up to the gate, we die laughing because they are closed on Friday! We should have taken a picture. So we turned around and went back to the hotel to remove our 50 layers. Friday ended up being a lot of fun because we did an Ol' timey picture with all of us, shopped a little then went to the Dixie Stampede that night.
Ol' Timey Photo
This was Martha Lynn's idea, and we had a Groupon for a really cheap session. Well, now I know that they get you in with the Groupon  then talk you in to buying pictures that you don't need. Definitely don't take Martha Lynn with you to watch the presentation because she can't say no:-)
The Dixie Stampede
Kylie, Camille, CeCe, Braden and Reed
The kids all loved watching the show. The boys, especially Reed, really liked when they did the competitions between North and South.
 Dollywood
Thankfully, the park was open on Saturday. Unfortunately, it was Sevier County day to get into the park for $1 which made for a long line to get into the park. However, most of these citizens were over the age of 60 and just wanted to watch some shows which our kids had no desire to do anyways! We stayed all day into the night to see the Christmas lights and parade.
Definitely some tired kiddos at the end of the night.
It was nice not having a "formal" party this year. We did celebrate their birthday at Aunt Tina's house with cake and presents but I didn't have my camera with me.
Thanksgiving Lunch
The boys have had a great year in school so far. They are learning so much and making some of the sweetest friends. We could not have asked for a better school and teacher for them to have their first year.
Their school had a Thanksgiving lunch for the parents to come enjoy. I can't bring myself to eat cafeteria food so I just talked with the kids.
One thing that the boys got for their birthday is new bunk beds built by Papa! Their ceiling has a weird slope to it which prevented us from just buying beds. They turned out great and now they have somewhere for their friends to sleep with they come over...or their sister!
Six years have flown by and we are so thankful for these years full of many great memories!
