Christmas Canvas

This is my favorite canvas hand/foot print that I have made so far. I did Braden, Reed and Kylie's hands in brown for the reindeer then Kylie's foot for Santa's sleigh in green. Here is the order in which I completed the canvas:

1) Reins, Antlers, Sleigh base - Black Sharpie

2) I just painted Santa a red suit and red hat. Just leave some room for his face to go.

3) Filled in from his suit to his hat with a cream paint for his face and cream "blobs" for his hands

4) Added the white paint for detail for his suit and beard.  Also did a white dot for the eye of the reindeer.
5) One dot of blue paint for Santa's eye

6) Draw a black pupil on top of the white of the reindeer eye

7) Paint a bag in brown for Santa's toys.

8) Write whatever Christmas saying that you like in red.

Enjoy this cute canvas during the holiday!

And Now Four...Not Kids!

Can you believe it? The boys turned four on November 12! Where in the world has the time gone? What an awesome blessing these two are in our lives and we are so very, very grateful for the health and happiness we have been given these past 4 years with our boys! We pray for many more!!!

Camille, Macey, Reed, Madison and Braden. This picture makes Braden and Madison look like giants compared to the other three.
Uncle Craig brought his tractor to do a hayride with. I forgot to mention that the weather was absolutely beautiful. You never know in November but it was sunny and in the 70's.
Some of the kids waiting for the tractor to get unloaded.
We did a hayride at our house and the kids loved it.
Sweet siblings, Ava Grace and Caleb then Maddi and Preston.
I ended up just blocking off half of our garage and decorating it with gingham and cow print. We had bbq, hotdogs(for the kids), baked beans, coleslaw, mac-n-cheese and chips for lunch.
 "Baby" Cece, Camille's sister
 Isn't Natalie so beautiful?!!
I was waiting to light the boys' cupcakes when Ryan tricks me and has everyone sing Happy Birthday to me. We had the party on November 10, which was my 34th birthday! I was a little embarrassed.
Now, four year old big boys!
Kylie was too cute after all of the singing. I went over to her and she looekd so sad. I asked her what was wrong and she said as serious as she could be "Nobody sang Happy Birthday to ME!" Come to find out, that wasn't the problem. She was really upset that she didn't get a candle on her cupcake.
Sometimes life isn't fair:-)
Caleb and Kylie are big buds. He was seriously trying to get the icing off of his face, but he just couldn't quite manage to do that!
Reed and Garrett
Braden and Camille....we will have a lot of great pics of these kids when they graduate some day!
 Uncle Craig with "his boys"
 Great family picture...not!
My sweet grannies with Braden, Kylie and Reed.
I was mad that I didn't do these pictures before Charley left the party.
I decided to make salt dough ornaments for the kids to paint.  These are super easy to make!
The recipe is very simple: 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 cups of salt, and water added to the dry ingredients until a soft dough is formed. The dough is similar to dough for a pie crust. Then you just roll it out, cut out the shapes and bake overnight at 225 degrees.
 The kids painting their tractors.
No, the tractors did not look exactly like this when the kids finished. I just let them paint the tractors green and once they were dry, I added the yellow and black to make them look a little more like a John Deere Tractor.  I think they turned out really cute and now each kid will have an ornament to remember the party with!
This was our gift for the boys
One last thing, we also made salt dough handprints with the four grandkids.  After I baked them, I painted each one with craft paint then sealed them with PolyAcrylic. They turned out so cute!

Fall Time

This is a picture from last month of the boys on a dove hunt with daddy. They actually did pretty good considering all they got to do was sit. They were good bird dogs!

Guess who is about to be 4 years old?!!
Braden and Reed are!!!
The other night, I talked Tina into letting Charley spend the night with us for her first night away from home ever. I figured that she needed to do that before her world gets turned upside down when her baby sister gets here in March. That poor baby girl will not have a chance with these four fighting over her.
We let the kids roast hot dogs outside and they loved it. The boys' had on their John Deere scarves and the girls "had" to have one too so they got to wear mine.
This picture is NOT what it looks like. This is what happens when you have 4 kids under 4 for a night. Kylie came into the kitchen and said "mom, come here!" That is NEVER a good thing.
Well, Kylie and Charley found my pedicure basket and thought it would be a great idea to dump all 3 bottles in the toilet. I guess it's much better there than on the floor!
Reed, Charley, Kylie and Braden
As you can tell, our weather has been crazy. It is freezing one day then hot the next. Reed getting convinced to slide down by himself on his belly.
Reed, Kylie and Braden throwing leaves at papa!
Reed, Braden and Kylie surprising Nanny and Granny on Halloween.
Kylie, the mouse. I was really wanting the kids to be the 3 little pigs but the boys decided they wanted to have an opinion.
So the boys decided they wanted to be dinosaurs....dragons are close enough, right?!!
Brady, Braden, Tori, Reed and Kylie
THEN: Kylie and Maddi, October 2010
NOW: 2012
 "Say Cheese!"
 Happy Halloween 2012!
