Turning Two

Happy Two Year Birthday Charley Rae! We had a great time at her birthday party at Lucky Ladd Farm's and that place is awesome. If you have kids, I highly recommend going there. There is so much to do there that the kids love. To tell you how much the kids loved it, we stayed there from 11:30-4:30 before we realized what time it was!
The kids loved the petting zoo but I felt so sorry for those poor sheep that were being chased by our kids.
Granny (83) and Nanny (86) enjoying watching their great-grandkids have a great time. I think they really enjoyed themselves too. I am so thankful that my grannies are still around for our kids to build relationships with!

Braden Paul White (3 yrs. 5 months old)
Reed Hutchison White (3 yrs. 5 months old)

Lucky Ladd hosted an Easter egg hunt too. The girls loved just sitting opening the eggs.
They have these huge slides going down this big mound of dirt. There were 3 corrugated slides and one slide that you slide down on feed sacks.
Who else has an 86 year old nanny who will seesaw with their grandkid?

I had to put this picture in here to show how bad Reed's allergies got. When we got home from our trip to New Orleans, his eyes were so swollen and red. It took a few weeks for this to get better. When we got to Charley's party his eyes looked good but this is what they looked like towards the end of the day.  I always thought people made up having allergies but I guess I will eat my words now!
Papa and Nana... great picture!
Thanks Charley for a great birthday party!
Coming Soon will be the pictures from Kylie's Two-Year Old Birthday Party!

Go CATS!

This picture just about sums up our last week in New Orleans...UK is #1 and KU is #2!!!!! I would have bet a million bucks last year when Ryan and Josh bought tickets to the Final Four that there would be no chance of Kentucky and Kansas making it to the Final Four, especially not playing each other for the championship.
We left last Saturday for New Orleans with Mandi and Josh to stay till the following Wednesday. On Saturday night, we watched Kentucky beat Louisville then Kansas beat Ohio State. Those two games were so exciting, especially the last two minutes of the Kansas game. We couldn't believe that both of our teams would be playing each other on Monday night. It definitely made the next two days more fun anticipating the championship game.

While in New Orleans, I feel like all we did was eat and walk around downtown. I felt like I was back in college because we stayed out till at least 2 every night but then slept till at least 9. I am WAY too old for that sleeping schedule!  If you haven't been to New Orleans, it is a great place to visit for a long weekend trip. Thankfully, Mandi and Josh had mapped out all of the great eating places for us. I think I gained 5 pounds during the trip.
On Monday night before the big game, we got a cab to Red Fish Grill because it was raining so hard. Not the best weather for having to walk every where. After dinner, we had to walk a ways to the game but we didn't have an umbrella. So I just asked the hostess if we would have 2 trash bags and they worked great....we might not have looked so great though!
Don't you love Mandi's expression!
After the game, it was still pouring so boxes had to be our umbrella!
We headed back to our hotel because the team was apparently coming there to receive the trophy again. When we got there, we walked right up to the front and there weren't many people there at all. The UK band and cheerleaders provided entertainment until the team showed up.
Ryan is supposed to be taking my picture in front of the UK Championship banner...this is what he actually took!
I had no idea who this man was that Ryan was talking to...he is just the founder of Nike! Ryan went up and introduced himself and asked him "What's it going to take to get Kansas to start wearing Nike?!" Classic!!
Now we know who is better....Kentucky!!!!! (at least this year)
